USM Knap-In

The 3rd Annual U.S.M. Knap-In

About the U.S.M. Knap-in

The University of Southern Maine's Geography-Anthropology Student Association is hosting its 3rd Annual U.S.M. Knap-In.  Flintnappers, or stone tool makers, gather at these events to practice their art and exchange ideas and materials.  There are many such events nationwide, but our Knap-In is the only one of its kind in the state of Maine.

We are very proud to host an event that draws participants of all ages and levels of experience from as far as Vermont, New York, and Pennsylvania.  It is an opportunity for the students of our department to spread knowledge about the program, the University and ourselves, engage the community, and simply have a great time!

This is our 3rd (and certainly biggest!) year for this event and we are bringing more and more of the community together for a day of good fun - and maybe even a little learning.

Admission to the U.S.M. Knap-In is free to the public, however to help defer the cost of such a project, a $10.00 donation is suggested.  Your donation will help to fund next year's event, which promises to be even larger.

Stay tuned to this website for information about the 4th Annual U.S.M. Knap-In, as well as smaller events along the way!

See you in April!

Admission is FREE to the public.
All ages are welcome!
