USM Knap-In

The 3rd Annual U.S.M. Knap-In

The history of the U.S.M. knap-in

The USM Knap-In was begun by students in 2006.  Geography-Anthropology major Matthew Rowe and GASA saw the Knap-In as a way to generate interest in archaeology, anthropology and geography.  The event brought knowledge about prehistoric life and the importance of cultural preservation to the public, as well as students.  Matt and the other founders of the event have since graduated, but they left behind a firm base on which to build future Knap-Ins.  We are pleased this year to have already gone above and beyond their expectations, and our own!
